Interclube crowned women's basketball champions

Interclube reached a narrow 72-71 victory over 1 de Agosto in the fourth match of the senior women's basketball championship final played at best-of-five playoff games, which enabled them to lift their 15th title. With 19 points scored the Mozambican player Ingvild Macuaro and the American Meighan Simmons (175-G-1992, college: Tennessee) (16 points) Interclube reached a narrow win over 1 de Agosto. 1 de Agosto won the first two quarters by 24-19 and 35-29, however Interclube improved the performance, mainly defensively in the third period with the two teams finishing tied with 52 points. The fourth quarter was decisive with 1 de Agosto leading by 13-points, however the team let the win slip away by allowing Interclube surprisingly to score 12 points with five minutes remaining for the end of the match, thus conquering the champioship title for the fiftheenth time.
