We bring you last week's top performances from Angolans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

Bruno Fernando
Bruno Fernando
#1. This week's number one is former international center Bruno Fernando (208-1998, college: Maryland, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Houston Rockets (20-59) in their last game. Despite Fernando's very good performance the Houston Rockets (20-59) were edged 121-118 on the road by the Sacramento Kings. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds in 22 minutes on the court; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Fernando's first season in pro basketball. It was Rockets' fourth consecutive loss in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Fernando averages: 6.9ppg, 4.0rpg, 2FGP: 72.5%(29-40) and FT: 57.9% in 10 games he played so far. He played for the Angolan senior national team year ago.

Antonio Monteiro

Despite his good performance the third-placed Sporting (19-4) was defeated 90-76 in a derby game by the second-ranked Benfica in the Places 1-4 group. Monteiro recorded 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Monteiro's overall stats this season are: 8.7ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.3apg, 2FGP: 53.1%, 3FGP: 37.7% and FT: 64.3%. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese. Despite Monteiro played previously for the Portuguese U20 national team, he played also for the Angolan national team in 14.

Julio De Assis
Julio De Assis

He managed to help Club Ourense Baloncesto to win against the 14th-ranked Marbella (7-17) 63-50 in the Spanish LEB Silver (third division) in Saturday night's game. De Assis scored only 4 points. Club Ourense Baloncesto (17-6) is placed first in West group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. De Assis' overall stats this season are: 2.7ppg, 4.1rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Spanish. De Assis played for the Angolan national team year ago.

Gil Silva

He recorded 5 points. Academia (#8) was crushed 98-70 at home by the higher-ranked Olhanense (#7) in the Places 9-16 group. It was Academia's 11th consecutive loss in a row. Silva's team will play only one more game in the Relegation Round. Silva's overall stats this season are: 4.8ppg, 2.9rpg and 1.2spg. He has both Angolan and Portuguese nationalities.
