   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international guard Jaques Conceicao (190-89, currently plays in Portugal). He could not help Lusitania (8-7) in their last game. Despite Conceicao's good performance Lusitania lost 66-79 on the road to the lower-ranked (#8) Ovarense. He scored 10 points and had 3 steals in 27 minutes on the court. It was Lusitania's third consecutive loss in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Conceicao's first season with the team. This year Conceicao averages: 4.9ppg, 2.1rpg, 1.1apg, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 66.7% in 15 games he played so far. Ex-Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda player is currently a member of the Angolan senior national team.

Antonio Monteiro

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89, currently plays in Portugal). He managed to help Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa to win against one of league's weakest teams Illiabum (3-13) 85-75 in the Portuguese LPB last Sunday. Monteiro recorded only 3 points. Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa (14-2) is placed first in the LPB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Monteiro's overall stats this season are: 8.5ppg, 4.6rpg, 1.5apg, 2FGP: 57.7%(15-26), 3FGP: 35.9% and FT: 64.7%. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese. Monteiro played for the Angolan national team in 2014.

   #3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international forward Silvio de Sousa (206-98, currently plays college basketball in the States). He led Chattanooga to a victory against the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (3-4) 72-64 in the NCAA on Thursday night. de Sousa had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds in 26 minutes. The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has quite an impressive 6-1 conference record this season. de Sousa has relatively good stats this year: 12.3ppg, 7.7rpg, 1.4bpg, 2FGP: 60.7%(88-145), 3FGP: 26.7% and FT: 65.4% in 18 games. He is also a member of the Angolan senior national team.

   #4. Guard Selton Miguel (193-0, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Kansas St. (2-5) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Miguel's good performance the Kansas St. was edged 78-75 in Lawrence by the University of Kansas. He scored 11 points. Miguel's overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 5.0rpg and 1.8apg. He is also Angolan national team player.

   #5. Former U18 international guard Gil Silva (185-0, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to secure a victory for Academia (2-11) in their game against Portimonense (5-8) in the Portuguese Proliga (second division). Silva recorded 7 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. The eighth-placed Academia (2-11) was crushed 79-58 by the higher-ranked Portimonense (#6) in the South group. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. Silva's overall stats this season are: 3.5ppg and 2.9rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Portuguese. Silva used to play for the Angolan U18 national team four years ago.

   #6. Guard Joshua Kashila (190, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to an easy victory against the University of Science and Arts (8-2) crushing them 105-79 in the NAIA last Saturday. He scored 6 points, had 9 boards, dished 5 assists and stole 3 balls. The SW Assemblies of God University has quite an impressive 10-1 record this season. Kashila is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his fifth year in SW Assemblies of God University's roster. Kashila has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 15.5ppg, 6.9rpg, 3.4apg and 1.2spg. Kashila is an international player who is currently on the senior Angolan National Team roster.

   #7. Former U20 international forward Cristiano Gomes (203-98, currently plays in NAIA) contributed to a Paine College's victory against the Voorhees College 76-64 in the SIAC on Thursday night. He recorded 5 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 12 minutes. It was his first game for Paine College this season. His team has a very solid - record this season. Gomes used to play for the Angolan U20 national team six years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Angolan passport but never been selected to any of Angolan national teams:

   #1. Experienced Eduardo Andre (208-C-1, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Nebraska (0-8) to beat the Indiana University (5-4). Andre scored only 4 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 21 minutes. The Nebraska lost 71-78 on the road to the Indiana University. So far Nebraska lost all eight games in the conference This year Andre's overall stats are: 3.6ppg and 3.4rpg in 17 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and British.

   #2. Jose Tonet (C-99, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to help Sampaense in their game against Galomar (11-2) in the Portuguese Proliga (second division). He cannot count it as his best performance. Tonet recorded only one point and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes. Sampaense (#6) was badly defeated 83-64 at home by the leading Galomar in the North group. It was Sampaense's sixth consecutive loss in a row. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This year Tonet's overall stats are: 5.3ppg and 4.7rpg in 12 games.
