#1. This week's number one is former international power forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89, currently plays in Portugal). He was the major contributor in Sporting's victory against one of league's weakest teams Povoa (0-4) 71-68 in the Portuguese LPB in Saturday night's game. Monteiro recorded 14 points and grabbed 7 rebounds (made all of his five free throws) in 25 minutes on the court. Sporting Clube de Portugal Lisboa (4-1) is placed second in the LPB. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Monteiro's first year with the team. This season he averages: 7.8ppg, 5.4rpg, 3FGP: 34.8% and FT: 71.4% in five games he played so far. Monteiro has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese.
