We bring you last week's top performances from Angolans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Yanick Moreira (211-91, agency: BeoBasket, college: SMU, currently plays in Basketball Champions League). He was the major contributor in AEK's victory against the fourth-ranked Tsmoki-Minsk (2-4) 95-90 in the Basketball Champions League in Wednesday night's game. Moreira scored 21 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 31 minutes on the court. AEK Athens (4-2) is placed second in group C. The Regular Season already ended in the Basketball Champions League. Moreira has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 17.0ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.8apg, 2FGP: 63.6%(42-66) and FT: 75.0% in six games he played so far. Moreira is currently a member of the Angolan senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former U20 international forward Valdir Manuel (208-99, currently plays college basketball in the States), who plays in the NCAA. He could not help the N.Mexico (1-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Manuel's very good performance the N.Mexico was defeated 83-71 on the road by the San Jose State University. He scored 25 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and made 4 blocks. Manuel's overall stats this season are: 8.1ppg, 4.0rpg, 1.4bpg, 3FGP: 25.0% and FT: 57.1%. He played for the Angolan U20 national team in 2016.

   #3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was former international power forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89, currently plays in Portugal). Monteiro led Imortal to a victory against the closely-ranked Benfica (12-4) 93-86 in the Portuguese LPB on Sunday night. He scored 11 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in 38 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Imortal Luzigas Albufeira (3-1) is placed second in the LPB. Monteiro has relatively good stats this year: 10.9ppg, 5.8rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1spg, 2FGP: 58.3%(42-72), 3FGP: 27.5% and FT: 61.9% in 14 games. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese. Despite Monteiro played previously for the Portuguese U20 national team, he played also for the Angolan national team in 2014.

   #4. An experienced guard Selton Miguel (193-0, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA was not able to help the Kansas St. (1-7) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Miguel's good performance the Kansas St. was crushed 76-50 at home by the The University of Oklahoma. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Miguel's overall stats this season are: 8.6ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.2apg. He used to play for the Angolan U19 national team back in 2017.

   #5. Former U20 international guard Eric Amandio (190-98, currently plays in NAIA) was not able to secure a victory for the Oklahoma City University (0-1) in their game against the Central Christian College (1-0) in the NAIA. He recorded 7 points. His team was defeated 74-67 in McPherson by the Central Christian College. It's Amandio's first season with the team. This year Amandio averages only 1.2ppg. He used to play for the Angolan U20 national team five years ago.

   #1. Rafael Silva (185-G, college: San Jacinto, currently plays in Portugal) managed to help S.C. Lusitania EXPERT in a 1-point victory against the closely-ranked Academica (6-10) 84-83 in the Portuguese LPB last Sunday. Silva scored 5 points in 6 minutes. S.C. Lusitania EXPERT (11-5) is placed fifth in the LPB. This year Silva averages only 1.2ppg in 12 games he played so far.
