Atletico Petroleos de Luanda (Division I) re-signed 30-year old center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-111kg-90, college: Hawaii, agency: Duran International). He played there last season. He helped them to win the Supercup and make to league final.
The previous (2019) summer Joaquim was tested by Chicago in U.S. semi-pro league Eurobasket Summer League in Las Vegas.
Joaquim represented Angola at the Afrobasket Championships in Abidjan (Ivory Coast) seven years ago. His team won Gold and his stats at that event were 4 games: 2.0ppg, 1.5rpg.
And here thanks to pro basketball Joaquim experienced life on four different continents. He is familiar with European, Latin American, African and of course North American leagues. Joaquim has played previously professionally also in Argentina (Obras) and France (STB Le Havre and Quimper UJAP).
Among many awards he received Afrobasket.com All-African Champions Cup 1st Team award back in 2016.
He attended University of Hawaii until 2013 and it will be his eighth season in pro basketball.
