Here is the weekly review of the top performing Angolan players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is former international guard Edmir Lucas (191-93, currently plays in United Kingdom). He contributed to a London Lions' victory against the eighth-ranked Bristol Acadamy Flyers (4-5) 75-66 in the British BBL in Friday night's game. Lucas recorded 8 points in only 14 minutes on the court. London Lions (10-3) is placed first in the BBL. This year Lucas averages: 4.0ppg, 3FGP: 66.7% in two games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Portuguese and Angolan. Former Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda starter played for the Angolan senior national team three years ago.

   #2. Second place goes to former international forward Bruno Fernando (208-98, college: Maryland, currently plays in NBA). Fernando could not help the Atlanta Hawks (15-41) to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers (14-40). He did not impress in that game on Wednesday. Fernando recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. The Atlanta Hawks (15-41) were crushed 127-105 on the road by the Cavaliers. It's Fernando's first season with the team. His overall stats this year are: 4.0ppg, 3.4rpg, 2FGP: 60.3%(73-121), 3FGP: 12.9% and FT: 61.5%. Fernando played for the Angolan national team in 2016.

   #3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international guard Jaques Conceicao (190-89, agency: Promo Sport ID, currently plays in Portugal). He managed to help Ovarense Basquetebol in a victory against the closely-ranked CAB Madeira (8-12) 91-73 in the Portuguese LPB last Saturday. Conceicao scored only 2 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 26 minutes. Ovarense Basquetebol (8-12) is placed seventh in the LPB. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Conceicao's overall stats are: 7.5ppg, 3.3rpg, 1.5apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 35.7%, 3FGP: 28.8% and FT: 65.8% in 20 games. Ex-Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda player is also a member of the Angolan senior national team.

   #4. Forward Julio De Assis (203-92, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Spain) helped Castello win their game against the third-ranked Leyma Basquet (15-7) 83-68 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Friday night. He recorded only 3 points. TAU Castello (9-13) is placed 12th in the LEB Gold. De Assis' total stats this season are: 5.2ppg and 2.6rpg. He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Spanish. De Assis used to play for the Angolan national team back in 2018.


The list of other players, who all have Angolan passport but never been selected to any of Angolan national teams:

   #1. Fabio Galiano (202-PF-97, currently plays in Germany). He could not help Hertener Loewen (12-10) to beat Deutzer (12-10). Galiano was the second best scorer with 9 points. He also added 3 steals in only 13 minutes. But the sixth-placed Hertener Loewen (12-10) lost 58-64 at home to the lower-ranked (#7) Deutzer in the West group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Galiano's overall stats are: 5.3ppg and 3.6rpg in 20 games he played so far.

   #2. Experienced Benedito Suca (196-F-84, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to help Academia (9-10) in their last game on Sunday. Despite his very good performance Academia was defeated 87-75 on their home court in Lisbon by the higher-ranked Sampaense (#5). Suca was the second best scorer with 16 points. He also added 5 rebounds. Suca is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his ninth year in Academia's roster. Suca has relatively good stats this season: 10.6ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.2apg and 1.1bpg.

   #3. Silvio Mateus (185-G-94, currently plays in Germany) was not able to secure a victory for Hagen-Haspe (3-20) in their game against TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen 2nd team (11-10) in the German Regionalliga (fourth division). He scored only 4 points in 15 minutes. The 13th-placed Hagen-Haspe (3-20) was badly defeated 72-55 on their home court in Hagen by the higher-ranked (#9) TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen 2nd team in the West group. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Mateus' total stats are: 6.1ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.8apg in nine games. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and French.
