We bring you last week's top performances from Angolans who are playing abroad and who all have had prior experience of national team duties at youth or senior level.

   #1. This week's number one is an international center Yanick Moreira (211-91, college: SMU, currently plays in Italy). He led Virtus Bologna to a victory against the closely-ranked Openjobmetis VA (16-14) 84-73 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night's game. Moreira scored 11 points, had 8 boards, handed out 3 passes and blocked 2 shots in 26 minutes on the court. Virtus Segafredo Bologna (15-15) is placed 11th in the Serie A. The Regular Season already ended. This year Moreira averages: 8.6ppg, 6.3rpg, 2FGP: 60.7%(54-89) and FT: 58.3% in 15 games he played so far. He is currently a member of the Angolan senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international guard Edmir Lucas (191-93, currently plays in United Kingdom). Lucas was the major contributor in a London CR's victory against the closely-ranked Sheffield Sharks (17-16) crushing them 91-69 in the British BBL last Saturday. He scored 16 points. London City Royals (18-15) is placed fifth in the BBL. It's Lucas' first season with the team. Lucas has relatively good stats this year: 10.1ppg, 2.5rpg, 2.3apg, 2FGP: 51.0%, 3FGP: 40.8% and FT: 73.3%. He has a dual citizenship: Portuguese and Angolan. Former Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda starter played for the Angolan national team in 2017.

   #3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was former international forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89, currently plays in Portugal). Monteiro contributed to a FC Porto's victory against the sixth-ranked Terceira (10-22) 91-77 in the Portuguese LPB on Sunday night. He scored 11 points and added 3 passes in a mere 16 minutes. FC Porto (25-7) is placed third in Places 1-6 group. This year Monteiro's overall stats are: 5.5ppg, 4.8rpg, 2FGP: 48.7%, 3FGP: 35.4% and FT: 49.2% in 32 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and Portuguese. Despite Monteiro played previously for the Portuguese U20 national team, he played also for the Angolan national team in 2014.

Guard Jaques Conceicao (190-89, currently plays in Portugal) helped Benfica win their game against the ninth-ranked CAB Madeira (9-13) crushing them 101-59 in the Portuguese LPB in Sunday night's game. Conceicao scored 11 points. Sport Lisboa Benficais placed second in Places 1-6 group. Conceicao's total stats this season are: 3.0ppg and 1.2rpg. He is also Angolan national team player.

   #5. Former international center Valdelicio Joaquim (208-90, agency: Duran International, college: Hawaii, currently plays in France) could not help Quimper UJAP (12-20) in their last game. Despite Joaquim's very good performance Quimper UJAP was crushed 110-72 on the road by the much higher-ranked (#5) Sluc Nancy. He was the top scorer with 19 points. Joaquim also added 5 rebounds in 23 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This year Joaquim has relatively solid stats: 13.6ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.1apg in 32 games. He used to play for the Angolan national team two years ago.

   #1. Experienced Benedito Suca (196-F-84, currently plays in Portugal) could not help Academia (20-8) in their last game on Friday. Despite Suca's very good performance the fourth-placed Academia (20-8) was defeated 95-84 on the road by the leading Barreirense in the Group A. He scored 19 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Suca is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his eighth year in Academia's roster. Suca has reliable stats this season: 14.5ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.2apg.

   #2. Sergio Correia (198-F-85, currently plays in Portugal) was not able to help Imortal (0-0) in their game against CAB Madeira (9-13) in the Portuguese LPB. He cannot count it as his best performance. Correia recorded only 3 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 21 minutes. The fourth-placed Imortal lost 75-80 at home to the lower-ranked (#9) CAB Madeira in the Places 7-12 group. This year Correia's total stats are: 5.9ppg and 3.0rpg in 31 games he played so far.
