Here is the weekly review of the top performing Angolan players, who play currently abroad.

Carlos Morais
Carlos Morais
   #1. This week's number one is an experienced international guard Carlos Morais (200-85, agency: Duran International, currently plays in Portugal). He led Benfica to a victory over the leader Galitos-Barreiro (17-16) 88-84 in the Portuguese LPB in Saturday night's game. Morais was MVP of the game. He recorded 25 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 31 minutes on the court. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Sport Lisboa Benfica (26-6) is placed second. Morais has relatively good stats this year: 11.8ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.9apg, 2FGP: 46.8%, 3FGP: 42.4% and FT: 83.8% in 25 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Angolan and Portuguese. Morais is currently a member of the Angolan senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to an international center Joaquim Valdelicio (208-90, also represented by Duran International, college: Hawaii, currently plays in France). He could not help STB Le Havre (10-23) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite Valdelicio's good performance STB Le Havre was badly defeated 95-79 on the road by the much higher-ranked Saint Chamond (#6). He was the second best scorer with 13 points. Valdelicio also added 9 rebounds. His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical. This season Valdelicio averages: 10.0ppg, 5.9rpg, 2FGP: 57.5%(84-146) and FT: 70.9%. He is in the roster of the Angolan senior national team.

   #3. The Angolan player who performed third best last week abroad was an international power forward Reggie Moore (203-81, college: ORU, currently plays in Portugal). Moore was not able to help Galitos-Barreiro (17-16) in their last game. Despite his good performance the first-placed Galitos-Barreiro (17-16) was edged 75-72 in Lisbona by the second-ranked Benfica in the Places 7-12 group. Moore scored 14 points, grabbed 4 boards, dished 3 assists and stole 4 balls in 29 minutes. This year Moore has relatively solid stats: 10.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 1.1apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 59.3%(32-54), 3FGP: 31.9% and FT: 77.4% in 13 games. He is another player who holds two passports: Angolan and American. Moore is also a member of the Angolan senior national team. He used to play for Recreativo's Libolo in Angolan league.

Antonio Monteiro

   #4. Forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89, currently plays in Portugal) managed to help FC Porto to win against the sixth-ranked Illiabum (12-19) 102-92 in the Portuguese LPB in Friday night's game. Monteiro recorded only 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. FC Porto (24-8) is placed third in Places 1-6 group. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Monteiro's overall stats this season are: 5.1ppg and 3.8rpg. He has both Angolan and Portuguese nationalities. Monteiro used to play for the Angolan national team back in 2014.

   #1. Experienced Sergio Correia (198-F-85, currently plays in Portugal) led Imortal to a victory over the fourth-ranked Sport Lisboa Benfica B (16-12) 79-74 in the Portuguese Proliga (second division) last Saturday. He was the best player in that game. Correia scored 26 points (!!!) and grabbed 7 rebounds in 39 minutes. Imortal BC Albufeira (26-2) is placed first in Places 1-8 group. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Correia's first season with the team. He has reliable stats this year: 13.6ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.5apg in 24 games he played so far.

JOAQUIM VALDELICIO Quimper UJAP (ProB) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old Angolan center Joaquim Valdelicio (208-111kg-90, college: Hawaii, agency: Duran International). He played last season at STB Le Havre. In 22 ProB games in France he recorded 9.9ppg and 5.8rpg. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (A1) agreed terms with experienced 35-year old Gabonese forward Stephane Lasme (203-98kg-82, college: Massachusetts). It is actually his comeback to Athens as he has played here before. Lasme played last season at Unics in Russian VTB league. In 19 Eurocup games he had 14.6ppg, 6.4rpg and 2.5bpg.
