Desportivo 1. De Agosto Luanda (Division I) added to their roster experienced 38-year old international power forward Eduardo Mingas (200-106kg-79) from Clube Recreativo e Desportivo do Libolo. Mingas has played there for the last four years. He helped them to win the league title and the Supercup.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Mingas was voted Afrobasket.com All-Angolan League 1st Team back in 2014.
He has been also a member of Angolan international program for some years. Mingas has regularly played for Angolan senior team since 2000 and previously for University National Team in 2001.
He represented Angola at the Afrobasket Championships this year. His stats at that event were 4 games: 3.5ppg, 4.0rpg.
Mingas has spent his entire career in Angola playing for two other teams: Petroleos and Interclube.
It's very possible he may end his playing career at 1 De Agosto.
On Mingas: An undersized inside player who worked year after year to became a better player at both ends of the floor. His jump shooting has improved visibly, he is stronger than ever and he became a tough defender.
