Afrobasket 2017: National women team back in Luanda - Sep 3, 2017

The national senior women's basketball team arrived in Luanda Wednesday after partaking in 23rd Edition of the African Basketball Championship (Afrobasket 2018) that ran from 18-27 in Bamaku, Mali, won by Nigeria. Angola ranked 6th, after losing 56-61 to Cote d'Ivoire in the game of access to the fifth and sixth places. Angola dropped two places compared to the fourth place gained last time in Cameroon in 2015. The team's captain, Nguedula Filipe, praised the country's behaviour despite this ranking.

Inter Clube de Luanda celebrate 2018 SuperCup title - 1 month ago
Inter Clube de Luanda celebrated 2018 Angola Women's Basketball SuperCup. In the Final game they beat 1 de Agosto 64-54. Inter Clube de Luanda led 6 points at the halftime as they reached 26-20 advantage. They managed to push the tempo in the second half and won by 10 points. In 2017 Interclube sealed Angolan Cup as they overcame Primero de Agosto in the Final game. Interclube dominated the majority of the game for the final 65-58 win.   [read more]

Keltern lands Alicia DeVaughn, ex 1 De Agosto - 5 months ago
ALICIA DEVAUGHN Gruener Stern Keltern (DBBL) tabbed 26-year old American center Alicia DeVaughn (193-91, college: Maryland, agency: ProDep Management). She played recently at 1 De Agosto in Angolan D1 league. DeVaughn managed to play in three leagues in two countries this year (!!!). She also played for Gernika Kirol Elkartea Saskibaloia in Spanish LFB earlier that season where in 5 D1 games she averaged 10.4ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.4spg. Sonia Guadalupe quits basketball - 6 months ago
The Angolan international basketball player, Sonia Guadalupe, who won the African Women's Championship twice, decided to quit the sport at the age of 32, 1 de Agosto Club's official site informs. According to the player's team website, she intends to face new challenges different from basketball.
