Angola's Petro de Luanda win 15th national basketball title - May 14, 2022

Angola's Petro de Luanda won its 15th national senior men's basketball title on Tuesday by beating Interclube 115-87 in the third game of the best-of-five series. Petro de Luanda had a 12-point lead at halftime and extended the advantage in the fourth quarter when they scored 27 points and limited their opponent to just 12. Petro de Luanda coach Jose Neto told the press after the match that his team's victory in the National Championship is a result of "hard work, but worthy of champions." On the other hand, Interclube's coach, Raul Duarte , said that it was good to be in the national championship final for the second time, but that "the second position was not enough for what his players did throughout the competition."

Petroleos conquer Cup title - May 19, 2022

Petro de Luanda celebrated the Angolan Cup title. They overcame 1 De Agosto 107-88 in the Final. Petro jumped to a 30-20 lead after the opening quarter. They maintained the lead throughout the second period arriving at halftime up by 10 points 54-44. Petro entered the fourth quarter ahead by 13 points 83-70 and protected the lead throughout the final term. Childe Dundao (167-G-1998) was named the MVP. He finished with 18 points for the winners.
