Algerian D1 round 24 best performance: Zakaria Guezout

International Forward Zakaria Guezout (200-F-1992) had a great game in the last round for Club Sportif Communal Djasr Constantine, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 33-year old player had a double-double of 29 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Moustakbal (#14, 3-21) 64-62. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. CSC Djasr maintains the 9th position in Algerian D1. CSC Djasr is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-12 record. Guezout turned to be CSC Djasr's top player in his first season with the team. Zakaria Guezout has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 18.4ppg) and averages impressive 1.4bpg,55.6% FGP and 40.2% from behind 3-point line.

The second best player in last round's games was young international point guard Tarek Hamdani (194-PG-1995) of Widad Boufarik. Hamdani had a very good evening with a double-double of 15 points and 16 assists. It was enough for Widad to edge the lower-ranked Taradji Amel (#11, 8-16) 77-71. Widad's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 16-8 record is not bad at all. Hamdani is one of the most experienced players at Widad and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third on the list of top players last round was center Mehdi Zaim (203-C-2003) of Union Sportif Medina Alger (#7). Zaim scored 18 points and grabbed 16 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of USM Alger, leading his team to a 67-55 win against CR Beni Saf (14-10). USM Alger needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 14 victories and 10 lost games. Zaim has a great season in Algeria. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 10.2rpg (5th best).
