Oumar's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Abakar Oumar

23-year old Chadian center Abakar Oumar (208-C-2002) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Chabab Sportif Tlemcen and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
He had a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat CSC Djasr (#9, 11-12) 87-79. Chabab Sportif maintains the 2nd position in Algerian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Chabab Sportif will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. Oumar turned to be Chabab Sportif's top player in his first season with the team. Abakar Oumar averages this season 14.3ppg and 12.5rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Hezil Yamame of Club Sportif Communal Djasr Constantine. He is a in his first season at CSC Djasr. In the last game Yamame recorded an impressive double-double of 27 points and 12 rebounds. Bad luck as CSC Djasr lost that game 64-73 to slightly higher-ranked USM Alger (#8, 13-10). CSC Djasr managed to keep the same 9th spot in the standings. His team is not often considered as one of the league's best with a mere 11-12 record. Yamame is a newcomer at CSC Djasr and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.8ppg (#7). He also registered 10.4 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to another CSC Djasr's star - forward Zakaria Guezout (200-F-1992). Guezout scored 27 points. Despite Guezout's great performance the Club Sportif Communal Djasr Constantine lost 79-87 to the higher-ranked Chabab Sportif (#2, 16-7). But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. The chances of CSC Djasr ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just eleven victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Guezout could help CSC Djasr to bring them higher in the standings. Guezout has a great season in Algeria. After 19 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.8ppg (2nd best). He also has 1.3bpg and a FGP of 54.8%.
