Mbav's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

38-year old DR Congolese center Mutomb Mbav (206-C-1987) put on an amazing game in the last round for Union Sportif de Setif and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
He had a double-double of 24 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Widad (#3, 12-6) 80-69. US Setif maintains the 12th position in Algerian league. Too late to salvage the team, which is currently ranked such low. They already lost 13 games and recorded just five victories. In the team's last game Mbav had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. He turned to be US Setif's top player in his first season with the team. Mutomb Mbav averages this season 13.6ppg and 10.9rpg.

Second best performed player last round was Mohamed Boudoumi (192-F-1998) of Union Sportifs Medina Blida. He is a forward in his first season at USM Blida. In the last game Boudoumi recorded an impressive double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds. Of course USM Blida cruised to a 89-80 relatively comfortable win over slightly higher-ranked CR Beni Saf (#7, 10-8). USM Blida's 9th position in the standings has not changed. His team lost some distance to top teams. But a 9-9 record is not bad and everything may still change. Boudoumi is a newcomer at USM Blida and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Imad Didi (182-G-2004) of Chabab Riadhi Beni Saf (#7). Didi scored 25 points. Despite Didi's great performance the CR Beni Saf lost 80-89 to slightly lower-ranked USM Blida (#9, 9-9). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing CR Beni Saf needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 10 victories and 8 lost games. Didi has a very solid season. In 18 games in Algeria he scored 11.0ppg.
