Anis Azzouz claims Algerian D1 Hoops Agents weekly honour

Anis Azzouz (198-F-2000) had an amazing evening in the last round for Union Sportif de Setif and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 16.
The 25-year old forward had a double-double of 28 points and 19 rebounds, while his team beat Taradji Amel (#11, 6-9) 80-74. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings. US Setif is placed at 12th position in Algerian D1. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. US Setif have already lost 12 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Azzouz had a remarkable 63.2% from 2-point range. He turned to be US Setif's top player in his first season with the team. Anis Azzouz averages this season 14.5ppg and 8.2rpg.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young international center Rabah Zitoun (211-C-1988) of Widad Boufarik. Zitoun impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 28 points and 10 rebounds. Of course he led Widad to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked Moustakbal (#13, 3-13) 79-59. Widad's 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 11-5 record is not bad at all. Zitoun is one of the most experienced players at Widad and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Sid Benzaime (203-C-2002) of Rouiba Club Basket (#4). Benzaime scored 19 points and grabbed 20 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Rouiba, leading his team to a 70-55 easy win against the lower-ranked CR Dar Beida (#8, 8-8). Rouiba needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 10 victories and 6 lost games. Benzaime has a great season in Algeria. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.0rpg (3rd best).
