Roubai's 30-point game gives him Player of the Week award

Mohamed Roubai

22-year old guard Mohamed Roubai (193-G-2003) had a great game in the last round for Rouiba Club Basket and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 14.
He had the game-high 30 points adding eight rebounds and three assists for Rouiba in his team's victory, helping them to beat CSC Djasr (#9, 7-8) 81-69. Thanks to this victory Rouiba moved-up to the 5th position in Algerian league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Rouiba will need more victories to improve their 9-6 record. In the team's last game Roubai had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. It's his second year at Rouiba and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Roubai has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (6th best: 16.7ppg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 57.4% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Mutomb Mbav (206-C-1987) of Union Sportif de Setif. He is DR Congolese center in his first season at US Setif. In the last game Mbav recorded an impressive double-double of 14 points and 22 rebounds. Of course he led US Setif to another comfortable win 70-56 over the higher-ranked CR Beni Saf (#6, 9-6) being unquestionably team leader. US Setif's 13th position in the standings has not changed. 12 lost games are too many comparing to just three victories US Setif managed to get this year. Mbav is a newcomer at US Setif and quickly became one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Mohamed Zahaf (193-F) of Union Sportifs Medina Blida (#10). Zahaf showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Zahaf's great performance the USM Blida lost 66-75 to the lower-ranked NA Hussein Dey (#14, 2-13). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of USM Blida ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 8 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Zahaf could help USM Blida to bring them higher in the standings. Zahaf has a very solid season. In 12 games in Algeria he scored 13.7ppg. He also has 4.8rpg and a FGP of 63.7%.
