D1 Round 13 (Regular Season): Widad edge USM Blida by two points

The most exciting game of round 13 in the D1 took place in Boufarik. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 8th ranked USM Blida (6-7) to sixth ranked Widad (8-5) 78-76 on Thursday evening. Widad forced 29 USM Blida turnovers. 24 personal fouls committed by USM Blida helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. fired 17 points, 5 assists and 5 steals (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners. chipped in 8 points and 12 rebounds. Abdesslem Dekkiche produced 7 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. USM Blida's coach Ahmed Ben Djabou rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Widad moved-up to fourth place, which they share with CR Beni Saf and Rouiba. USM Blida lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with CSC Djasr. Widad is looking forward to face league's second-placed Mouloudia in Alger in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. USM Blida will play at home against NA Hussein Dey (#14) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked Chabab Sportif (9-4) against fourth ranked Mouloudia (9-4) on Friday night. Visiting Chabab Sportif was defeated by Mouloudia in a tough game in Alger 63-68. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Chabab Sportif. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds. Oussama Aggoun contributed with 11 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Mustapha Braik answered with 23 points for Chabab Sportif. Mouloudia moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Chabab Sportif. Mouloudia will play against Widad (#5) in Boufarik in the next round. Chabab Sportif will play on the road against USM Alger and hopes to get back on the winning track.
An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Staoueli. First ranked Nadi Basket faced 3rd placed CR Beni Saf. Host Nadi Basket (12-1) defeated guests from Beni Saf (8-5) 74-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of CR Beni Saf. Mohamed Bensalah stepped up with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. At the losing side Mamadou Keita responded with 16 points. CR Beni Saf's coach Didi Said tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Nadi Basket have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 12-1 record. CR Beni Saf at the other side dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. They share it with Widad and Rouiba. Nadi Basket will meet at home CR Dar Beida (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CR Beni Saf will play against US Setif (#13) and hope to secure a win.

Faredj Messaoudi stepped up with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 14 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners and Ahmed Boutiba chipped in 13 points and 10 rebounds. Four USM Alger players scored in double figures. At the losing side Nabil Nouari responded with 22 points and 9 rebounds and Mohamed Ait Ouchane scored 10 points. USM Alger moved-up to seventh place, which they share with CR Dar Beida. Taradji Amel lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh position with eight games lost. USM Alger will meet at home higher ranked Chabab Sportif (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rouiba's coach Mohamed Khideche used entire bench in such tough game. At the losing side Mounir Djellili responded with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists and Abdelmalek Idir scored 14 points and 8 rebounds. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Rouiba. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Widad and CR Beni Saf. NA Hussein Dey lost their sixth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 12 games lost. Rouiba will meet at home CSC Djasr (#10) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. NA Hussein Dey will play against USM Blida (#9) and hope to win that game.
