Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Algerians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is former U16 international guard
Nadir Hifi (190-2002, currently plays in France). He contributed to a 1-point
Le Portel's victory against the ninth-ranked Le Mans (16-15)
83-82 in the French Betclic ELITE ProA in Tuesday night's game.
Hifi scored 9 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and dished 8 assists in 34 minutes on the court.
ESSM Le Portel Cote d'Opale (6-4) is placed second in the Betclic ELITE ProA.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
This year Hifi averages: 6.6ppg, 1.5rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 56.7%(34-60), 3FGP: 35.6% in 22 games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Algerian and French.
Hifi played for the Algerian U16 national team year ago.
#2. Second place goes to former international forward
Kamel Ammour (203-1991, currently plays in France). He contributed to an easy victory against the eighth-ranked JA Vichy (16-17)
94-75 in the French ProB (second division) last Saturday.
Ammour scored 9 points.
Saint Chamond Basket Valle du Gier (7-3) is placed second in the ProB.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial.
Ammour's overall stats this season are: 6.5ppg, 2.9rpg, 1.1apg, 2FGP: 54.7%, 3FGP: 33.3% and FT: 73.1%.
He played for the Algerian national team in 22.
#3. The Algerian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international point guard
Samir Mekdad (191-1986, currently plays in France). Mekdad could not help
C'Chartres (14-8) to beat Pontoise (4-6). It was not his best game last Sunday.
Mekdad scored only 2 points in 21 minutes.
The third-placed C'Chartres (14-8) lost
83-89 on the road to the lower-ranked (#5) Pontoise in the Group A.
They ended the series of three consecutive victories.
This year Mekdad's overall stats are: 8.3ppg, 3.5rpg, 2.5apg, 2FGP: 39.8%, 3FGP: 32.4% and FT: 55.4% in 26 games.
He is another player who holds two passports: Algerian and French.
Mekdad played for the Algerian national team year ago.
#4. Guard
Nadyr Labouize (187-1997, currently plays in France) was not able to help
Andrezieux in their game against Lorient (2-10) in the French NM1 (third division).
He scored only 4 points, made 4 passes and 4 steals.
Andrezieux (#5) was crushed
110-59 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Lorient (#7) in the Group B.
Labouize's total stats this season are: 7.4ppg, 3.3rpg and 3.4apg.
He used to play for the Algerian national team
back in 19.
