Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top performances of Algerians who are currently playing abroad.
#1. This week's number one is an experienced former international shooting guard
Karim Atamna (196-80, currently plays in France). He contributed to a
Provence Basket's victory against the tenth-ranked Paris (5-5)
87-75 in the French ProB (second division) in Saturday night's game.
Atamna scored 6 points in 20 minutes on the court.
FOS Provence Basket (7-3) is placed second in the ProB.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Atamna averages: 2.9ppg, 1.1rpg, 1.3apg, 3FGP: 53.8%(7-13) in nine games he played so far.
He has a dual citizenship: Algerian and French.
Atamna played for the Algerian senior national team fourteen years ago.
#2. Second place goes to an international point guard
Samir Mekdad (191-86, currently plays in France). He managed to help Rouen Metropole Basket to win against the league outsider Aix-Maurienne (2-8)
106-102 in the French ProB (second division) last Friday.
Mekdad scored only 2 points.
Rouen Metropole Basket (4-6) is placed 13th in the ProB.
They ended the series of five consecutive loses.
Mekdad's overall stats this season are: 2.7ppg, 1.1rpg, 3FGP: 23.1%.
He is another player who holds two passports: Algerian and French.
Mekdad is in the roster of the Algerian senior national team.
#3. The Algerian player who performed third best last week abroad was former international guard
Nadyr Labouize (187-97, currently plays in France). He led
Andrezieux to a victory against the sixth-ranked SOPCC (9-6)
83-78 in the French NM1 (third division) on Tuesday night.
Labouize scored 12 points and added 3 passes in 27 minutes.
Andrezieux Boutheon Loire Sud Basket (9-5) is placed fifth in Group B.
Labouize has relatively good stats this year: 10.2ppg, 4.0rpg, 2.9apg, 2FGP: 56.6%(30-53), 3FGP: 34.2% and FT: 69.4% in 13 games.
He played for the Algerian national team two years ago.
#4. Point guard
Faycal Sahraoui (188-79, currently plays in France) helped
Toulouse win their game against the 12th-ranked Dax-Gamarde (4-10) crushing them
89-50 in the French NM1 (third division) in Friday night's game.
Sahraoui scored only 4 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 8 assists.
Toulouse Basket Club (12-2) is placed first in Group A.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
This season Sahraoui has relatively solid stats: 11.0ppg, 3.8rpg, 7.3apg and 1.6spg.
He has both Algerian and French nationalities.
Sahraoui used to play for the Algerian national team
back in 2015.
