D1 Round 4 (Second Stage): Staoueli edges USS by one point - May 28, 2018

The most exciting game of round 4 in the D1 took place in Staoueli. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of their biggest opponent USS (3-2) to third ranked Staoueli (3-1) 60-59 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of USS. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Staoueli moved-up to second place. USS at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. Staoueli are looking forward to face IRB Arreridj (#6) in B.B. Arreridj in the next round. USS will play at home against the league's leader GS Petroliers and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Important game to mention about took place in Alger. Sixth ranked WA Boufarik (2-2) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging one of their biggest challengers NAH Dey (2-2) 69-68 in the fight for the fourth place. WA Boufarik moved-up to fourth place, which they share with defeated NAH Dey. WA Boufarik will play against USMB (#8) in Blida in the next round. NAH Dey will play on the road against CRB Dar El-B. (#7) in El-Beida and hopes to get back on the winning track.
Undefeated leader GS Petroliers delivered the fifth consecutive victory on Sunday night. This time they beat 5th ranked CRB Dar El-B. (1-3) 81-69 in Alger. Undefeated GS Petroliers (5-0) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with a perfect record of 5 victories in a row. Loser CRB Dar El-B. dropped to the seventh place with three games lost. GS Petroliers will meet USS (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. CRB Dar El-B. will play against NAH Dey (#5) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked USMB (0-5) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 85-71 loss to seventh ranked IRB Arreridj (2-3) in Blida. IRB Arreridj moved-up to sixth place. USMB at the other side still closes the standings with five games lost. IRB Arreridj's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Staoueli at home and it may be quite challenging game. USMB will play against WA Boufarik (#4) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
