D1 Round 24: WA Boufarik is defeated by OS Arreridj - Mar 30, 2018

There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games and even winless team recording their first victory. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most important game in the last round took place in between third ranked WA Boufarik (17-7) and ninth ranked OS Arreridj (12-12) on Tuesday night. WA Boufarik was defeated by OS Arreridj in a tough game on the road 59-66. OS Arreridj moved-up to eighth place. WA Boufarik at the other side dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost.
Very important is a road loss of second ranked IRB Arreridj (17-5) against fourth ranked GS Petroliers (17-3) on Tuesday night. Visiting IRB Arreridj was defeated by GS Petroliers in a tough game in Alger 89-96. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of IRB Arreridj. GS Petroliers have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion moved-up to second place. IRB Arreridj at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. GS Petroliers will play against Constantine JP (#15) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. IRB Arreridj will have a break next round.
Olympi Miliana has finally registered their first victory this season after 22 consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Constantine JP (4-18) 91-71 on Tuesday. Olympi Miliana maintains sixteenth position with 1-22 record. It was Constantine JP's third loss in a row. They dropped to the fifteenth place with 18 games lost. Olympi Miliana will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Constantine JP will play against the league's second-placed GS Petroliers (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
D1 top team - CRB Dar El-B. (20-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked El Eulma (9-14) in El-Beida 80-67. CRB Dar El-B. maintains first position with 20-4 record. El Eulma lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost.
The game in Alger was also quite interesting. Seventh ranked Staoueli (15-8) played at the court of 8th ranked NAH Dey (11-12). Staoueli managed to secure a 9-point victory 74-65 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of NAH Dey. Staoueli maintains seventh position with 15-8 record. Loser NAH Dey dropped to the ninth place with 12 games lost. Staoueli will have a break next round. NAH Dey will play against RC Constantine (#14) and hope to win that game.

There were no shocking results in the other games in round 24: Olympi Batna lost to US Setif on the opponent's court 73-88. RC Constantine outscored Ouargla in a home game 87-66. USM Blida managed to beat USM Alger on the road 64-57.



Olympi Miliana - Constantine JP 91-71

Very expected game in Setif where 12th ranked Olympi Batna (8-15) was defeated by fifth ranked USS (17-6) 88-73 on Tuesday. USS moved-up to fourth place. Loser Olympi Batna keeps the twelfth position with 15 games lost. USS will face again Olympi Batna (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.

There was a small surprise when fifteenth ranked RC Constantine (5-18) smashed at home 13th ranked Ouargla (5-18) 87-66 on Tuesday. RC Constantine moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with defeated Ouargla. RC Constantine will face higher ranked NAH Dey (#9) in Alger in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.

CRB Dar El-B. - El Eulma 80-67

D1 top team - CRB Dar El-B. (20-4) managed to deliver another win. This time they beat eleventh ranked El Eulma (9-14) in El-Beida 80-67. CRB Dar El-B. maintains first position with 20-4 record. El Eulma lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 14 games lost.

GS Petroliers celebrate 6th consecutive title - 5 days ago
GS Petroliers celebrate 2018/19 title as they had no difficulties in the Final game against NB Staoueli. GS Petroliers emerged to an easy 102-68 win as they had 59-34 halftime advantage. Earlier in the semifinals Groupe Sportif Petrolier overcame NA Hussein Dey 63-61, while NB Staoueli edged WA Boufarik 64-62. It was the 6th consecutive title for GS Petroliers.
