D1 Round 9: CRB Dar El-B. beats Staoueli by two after a very close game - Apr 12, 2017

The most exciting game of round 9 in the D1 took place in Staoueli. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 4th placed Staoueli (2-4) to leader CRB Dar El-B. (6-0) 78-76 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Staoueli. Undefeated CRB Dar El-B. have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 6-0 record. Staoueli at the other side dropped to the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with Ouargla and El Eulma.
Important game to mention about took place in Ouargla. Eighth ranked Ouargla (2-4) saved a 3-point victory at home edging second-best Olympic Batna (3-2) 63-60 on Saturday evening. Ouargla moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Staoueli and El Eulma. Olympic Batna at the other side keeps the second position with two games lost. They share it with NAH Dey and US Setif.
Another exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Alger: GS Petroliers (#2) and NAH Dey (#3). NAH Dey was crushed at home by 42 points 62-104 and even the advantage of their own court did not help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for GS Petroliers. Defending champion (4-0) keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Arreridj. Loser NAH Dey dropped to the second place with two games lost. They share the position with Olympic Batna and US Setif.

In the last game of round 9 Olympi Miliana was smashed by WA Boufarik on the road 88-69.

Ouargla - Olympic Batna 63-60

They moved-up to third place. Loser Olympi Miliana keeps the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with USM Blida.

GS Petroliers celebrate Coupe d'Algerie - 12 days ago
GS Petroliers - USM Blida 90-59 Petroliers edged USM Blida 90:59 to clinch the Algerian 2018/19 Cup. They grabbed an early 22-12 surge and never looked behind. Moreover Petroliers posted victories in all other quarters as well. They closed the game with the final 27-18 rally to seal the trophy. KARIM ATAMNA Aix-Maurienne Savoie Basket (ProB) confirmed in their roster experienced 38-year old Algerian ex-international shooting guard Karim Atamna (196-80). He has played there for the last four seasons. The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Atamna's team made it to the French ProB Leaders Cup Final Four in 2017. GS Petroliers celebrate 6th consecutive title - 1 month ago
GS Petroliers celebrate 2018/19 title as they had no difficulties in the Final game against NB Staoueli. GS Petroliers emerged to an easy 102-68 win as they had 59-34 halftime advantage. Earlier in the semifinals Groupe Sportif Petrolier overcame NA Hussein Dey 63-61, while NB Staoueli edged WA Boufarik 64-62. It was the 6th consecutive title for GS Petroliers. In 2013 CSM Constantine won the Play-offs after three year of dominance of GS Petroliers.   [read more]
