Nigeria, Uganda, Cameroon and Mali advance into semifinal stage

Quarterfinals

Egypt - Nigeria 51-66
Nigeria outgunned Egypt to seal the semifinal appearance. Nigeria dominated in the first half. They established a 37-23 halftime lead. Nigeria extended the margin at 18-point mark and marched to the win in the fourth stanza. Abigail Isaac (2007) tossed in 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Nigeria. Khadiga Abouelghait (190-C-2007) notched 13 points for Egypt.

Tunisia - Uganda 53-69
Uganda outlasted Tunisia in the quarterfinal battle tonight. Uganda eked out a 32-28 halftime lead. Tunisia pulled within a single point at the final break. But Uganda ignited a 22-7 rally in the fourth frame to ice the win. Resty Nanangwe (2007) tossed in 27 points, grabbed 8 rebounds and made 7 steals for the winners. Nour Horchani (173-PG-2006) answered with 13 points for Tunisia.

Cameroon - Angola 65-63
Cameroon held off Angola to seal their semifinal berth. Angola led by two points at halftime 33-31. But Cameroon used a 19-15 rally in the third term to snatch a narrow lead. They protected it well throughout the fourth stanza and rallied to a narrow win at the end. Damaris Emedie (192-C-2007) produced 15 points and 19 rebounds for Cameroon. Ana Servico (2007) answered with 15 points and 10 boards for Angola.

Mali - Rwanda 86-57
Mali stormed past Rwanda in the quarterfinal clash. Mali recorded a 44-26 halftime lead. They sank 42 points in the second half to race to the win. Mamady Doumbia posted 21 points, 22 rebounds and 5 assists for Mali. Brigitte Nibishaka (175-F-2006) answered with 19 points for Rwanda.
