Egypt breezed past Zimbabwe to improve at 3-0 record atop of Group C. Egypt recorded a 53-10 halftime lead. They erupted for 69 points in the second half and eased to the win. Jude Alaaeldin (176-SF-2006) produced 21 points, while Khadiga Abouelghait (190-C-2007) added 18 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Ruvimbo Sibanda (175-PF-2007) replied with 13 points and 9 rebounds for Zimbabwe. South Africa - Tunisia 24-91 Tunisia improved at 3-0 record as they stormed past South Africa. Tunisia used a 37-3 run in the second period to clear off for good. Yoldez Belaid came up with 26 points, while Ines Rejeb (174-PG-2007) added 15 points and 11 steals for the winners. Snqobile Thwala (2007) netted 7 points for South Africa. Cameroon - Rwanda 79-46 Cameroon clinched the second position in Group A. They fired past Rwanda for 2-1 record. Cameroon led from start to finish. They established a 41-25 halftime lead and limited Rwanda to just 21 points in the second half to race to the win. Damaris Emedie (192-C-2007) hauled in 21 points and 17 rebounds, while Kelya Kipo (180-G-2006) added 20 points for Cameroon. Brigitte Nibishaka (175-F-2006) answered with 17 points for Rwanda. Uganda - Nigeria 80-64 Uganda held off Nigeria to improve at 2-1 record in Group C. Nigeria enjoyed a 23-19 lead after ten minutes. But Uganda responded with a 61-41 rally in the next three quarters to ensure the winning outcome. Resty Nanangwe (2007) was unstoppable with 31 points and 10 rebounds for Uganda. Idubamo Beggi (2006) replied with 16 points for Nigeria. |
