Group AUganda - Algeria 69-72Algeria overcame Uganda to secure the first win in Madagascar. Algeria led by five points after the opening quarter. Uganda narrowed the deficit at 2-point mark at the big break. Algeria sank 34 points in the second half to race to the victory. Doua Yahiaoui (2004) tossed in 16 points, while Amel Mimouni (2005) added 14 points for the winners. Sylvia Nantongo replied with 13 points for Uganda. Mali - Madagascar 87-40 Mali fired past Madagascar to clinch the third straight victory. Mali posted a 52-19 halftime lead. They held the hosts to just 21 points in the second half to race to the win. Maimouna Haidara (181-PF-2004) produced 28 points and 12 rebounds, while Kamite Dabou (179-F-2004) added 16 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Justine Rahariarivony (2005) answered with 9 points for Madagascar. Group BTanzania - Guinea 62-52Rehema Mihina scored 16 points to pace Tanzania past Guinea. Tanzania registered a 36-24 halftime lead. They followed with a massive 22-7 rally in the third term to take a comfortable 27-point advantage. Guinea held Tanzania to just 4 points in the fourth period but could not avoid the loss. Paulina Mollel (175-F-2004) netted 15 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in the victory. Nafisatou Diack (C-2004) posted 15 points and 12 rebounds for Guinea. Egypt - Angola 67-50 Egypt recorded the third consecutive victory in Group B. They held off Angola to stay undefeated. Egypt eked out a 27-26 halftime lead. They went on a 25-13 run in the fourth quarter to rally to the victory. Jana Elalfy (192-C-2005) tallied 17 points and 14 rebounds for Egypt.
