Group AMali - Uganda 100-40Mali knocked down Uganda for 2-0 record at the championship. Mali opened a 45-17 halftime lead. Mali unloaded 55 points in the second half to coast to the victory. Maimouna Haidara (181-PF-2004) recorded 19 points and 15 rebounds for Mali. Sira Thienou (178-F-2004) added 15 points for the winners. Shilah Lamunu (170-G-2004) answered with 11 points for Uganda. Madagascar - Algeria 59-43 Madagascar outgunned Algeria to open win count in Group A. The hosts claimed a 36-16 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 26-point mark heading into the fourth quarter and rallied to the win. Marion Rasolofoson (2005) posted 13 points, while Nomenjanahary Andrianjafy (2004) added 12 points in the win. Doua Yahiaoui (2004) tallied 11 points and 12 rebounds for Algeria. Group BGuinea - Angola 19-76Angola stormed past Guinea to gain the second straight win at the championship. Angola recorded a 44-12 halftime lead. They held Guinea to just 7 points in the second half cruising to the win. Arminda Joaquim (2006) recorded 21 points and 8 rebounds for Angola. Nafisatou Diack (C-2004) replied with 10 points and 9 rebounds for Guinea. Tanzania - Egypt 38-111 Egypt trounced Tanzania to earn the second straight win in Madagascar. Egypt recorded a 56-18 halftime advantage and cruised to the victory in the second half. Jana Elalfy (192-C-2005) came up with 30 points and 13 rebounds for Egypt.
