Mali overwhelmed Algeria in the opener of the U18 African Championship. The favorites opened the gamer with a 23-8 run and dominated the whole game. They erupted with a 31-1 surge in the second quarter to prover their superiority.
Maimouna Haidara (181-PF-2004) stepped up with 27 points and Mariam Sarr (175-G-2005) as well as Badiaran Doumbia (165-PG-2004) notched 18 each.
