Egypt outlast Senegal for first win in Cairo

Egypt opened win count at the U18 AfroBasket. The hosts held off Senegal for 1-1 record. Yara Hussein (186-C-02) provided 19 points and 19 rebounds to lead the charge.
Senegal claimed a 15-8 lead after the first period. Egypt however pulled within 6 points at halftime 28-22. They held Senegal to just 7 points in the third term to even things up at 35 heading into the fourth frame. Egypt followed with a 19-13 run in the final period to ice the victory. Sandy Abdellatif (02) accounted for 12 points for the home side. Khadija Faye (02) answered with 11 points and 10 rebounds for Senegal.
