Egypt - Cape Verde 56-31
Egypt knocked down Cape Verde for the first win in Group A. Nouran Ibrahim (01) posted 13 points to lead the winners. Egypt piled up a 26:13 halftime lead. They held Cape Verde to only 18 points in the second half and raced to the win. Jana Abdullah (182-C-01) had 9 points in the victory. Joseana Vaz (00) nailed game-high 18 points and collected 12 rebounds for Cape Verde.

Mozambique - Rwanda 53-46
Mozambique held off Rwanda for the second straight win in Maputo. Ester Gomes (00) came up with 16 points for the winners. Mozambique opened the game on a 13:1 run. Rwanda denied the deficit in the next two quarters. They entered the fourth period up by 10 points. But Mozambique triggered a 26:9 run in the final quarter to snatch the win. Jennifer Sigauque (01) had 9 points for the winners. Bella Murekatete (C-00) replied with 14 points and 13 rebounds for Rwanda.
