Mali coasted past DR Congo in the opener. Five players scored in double digits for the hosts. Assetou Sissoko (183-SG-00) provided 22 points to lead the charge. Mali accumulated a 42:15 halftime lead. They unleashed 57 points in the second half to cruise to the win. Gnere Dembele (186-C-00) added 19 points in the victory. Naomie Bonga (00) scored 19 points for DR Congo.

Uganda - Angola 29-63
Angola outscored Uganda for the first win in Maputo. Antonia Miguel (00) scored 15 points to lead the winners. Angola built a 21:7 lead after ten minutes. They used a 29:12 run in the third term to clear off for good. Isabel Fernando had 8 points for the winners. Fildauce Namulema (01) replied with 13 points for Uganda.
