Egypt wins the Gold - Aug 7, 2010

Egypt is the winner of U18 AfroBasket 2010 in Cairo. The host of this event celebrated 63-62 thriller win against Nigeria to win the Gold. Of course, the Silver belongs to Nigeria. In the battle for third place Mozambique outplayed Mali 61-48. Fifth place in Cairo belongs to Tunisia, who blasted Ivory Coast 62-37. The seventh ranked team is Angola thanks to 53-45 victory against Senegal.

Egypt and Nigeria to meet in the Finals - Aug 6, 2010

Egypt and Nigeria will fight for the Gold in Cairo. They celebrated in the Semifinals and will take on each other today for the first place in U18 AfroBasket 2010. Egypt had an easy job against Mozambique in the Semis celebrating 80-47 victory. Nigeria outplayed Mali 57-44.
Ivory Coast and Tunisia will meet for the fifth place in Cairo, while Angola and Senegal will play for position No.7.

Quarterfinals in Cairo - Aug 5, 2010

Quarterfinals were played on Wednesday in Cairo. Nigeria blasted Tunisia 65-44, while Mali grabbed thriller win against Angola 51-50. It means that Nigeria and Mali will meet in the Semis. On the other side of the bracket, Egypt destroyed Ivory Coast 70-29. Mozambique outplayed Senegal 51-38 so the winners of these two games will meet each other in the Semis. Tunisia, Angola, Ivory Coast and Senegal will be transferred to Classification Games for 5th to 8h place.

Day Four in Cairo - Aug 3, 2010

Sunday was the fourth day of U18 AfroBasket in Cairo. Egypt and Nigeria outplayed their rivals and they are currently the leading teams of their groups. As a part of Group A, Egypt outplayed Angola for 3-0 record. Angola dropped to 2-2. In the same pool, Senegal outsmarted Tunisia 63-66 for the first win at this event. Tunisia stays winless after three appearances. In Group B, Nigeria destroyed Ivory Coast 84-34 for 3-0 score. It was the first game of Ivory Coast in Cairo.

Day Three in Cairo - Aug 2, 2010

Three games were played on Saturday in Cairo. In Group A, Kenya was better the Tunisia 64-58 jumping to 2-1 record. It was the second appearance for Tunisia at this event and they faced with the second straight loss. Also in Group A, Angola cruised past Senegal 63-50 for 2-1 score. Senegal stays winless (0-2). In Group B, Mozambique outplayed Mali 57-49 for the first win at this event. Both teams failed in their first appearances.
Four games will be played on Sunday, August 1.

Day Two in Cairo - Jul 31, 2010

Three games were played in Cairo on Friday. It was the second day of the 11th African Nations Championship U18 for Women.

In Group A, Kenya managed to grab the first win at this event. They outsmarted Angola 74-72 to join them with 1-1 record. Another game of Group A was played on Friday. Egypt jumped to 2-0 thanks to 89-31 victory against Senegal (0-1).

In Group B, Nigeria was too strong for Mali 65-47. It means that Nigeria stays perfect in Cairo with 2-0, while Mali failed in their first appearance.

Day One in Cairo - Jul 30, 2010

The 11th Championship of Africa of Nations U18 Women began well and truly on Thursday, July 30th, 2010 in Cairo (Egypt). Nigeria widely beat Mozambique (66 - 48) then Egypt perfectly assumed its status of organizing country by annihilating Kenya (87 - 40). Angola, as for her, assured the main part against Tunisia (55 48).
