SEMISFerroviaro M. - Sporting 86-70Ferroviaro toppled Sporting to advance into the championship game. The game was mostly controlled by Ferroviaro M.. Sporting was better in fourth quarter 23-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ferroviaro M. forced 24 Sporting turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. DR Congolese center Pauline Akonga Nsimbo (188-82, agency: LBM Management) scored 18 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Odelia Mafanela (181-89) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American forward Shawnta Dyer (185-91, college: Louisville) with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Asrar Bakr (180-98) scored 15 points and 8 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Inter-Clube looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a good game for Senegalese power forward Astou Traore (182-81) who saved her team from a defeat with 32 points (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). American-Angolan Italee Lucas (172-89, college: UNC) contributed with a triple-double by scoring 16 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists for the winners. American guard Kelsey Mitchell (172-95, college: Ohio St.) replied with 37 points (!!!) and 7 assists and her fellow American import power forward Schaquilla Nunn (191-94, college: Tennessee) added 14 points and 18 rebounds in the effort for Al Ahly. Four Al Ahly players scored in double figures.
