Stage is set for FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2019

The draw for the FIBA Africa Women's Champions Cup 2019 took place on Thursday in the Egyptian capital city of Cairo. The stage is set and the rosters for all the eight participating teams have been finalized and action starts on Friday at the Cairo Indoor Stadium.
The results of the draw are as follows:
Group A - 1. Sporting Alexandria, 2.Energie, 3.Inter Clube, 4.Mountain of Fire
Group B - 1.Ferroviario de Maputo, 2.FAP, 3.Al Ahly, 4.CNSS.

The 25th edition of the continental competition has brought together the best teams that will be vying for the trophy in a true battle for supremacy. Will it be the usual suspects emerging winners or shall we see a newbie conquer Africa? Only time will tell. Al Ahly will take on Forcees Armee et Police (FAP) from Cameroon at 16:30 GMT +2 on Friday before the opening ceremony while hosts Sporting Alexandria will be up against Energie from Benin in the last game of the day at 20:00 GMT +2. The first phase of the tournament will be played in a round robin format, with every team taking on its three opponents in its respective group. The second phase will be played in a knockout format from the Quarter-Finals onwards (Semi-Finals and Final). The 3rd Place Game and the Final will be played on the last day of the tournament on December 15 at the same venue.
