Petro de Luanda's senior men's team are optimistic about knockout stage qualification for African Basketball Clubs Cup scheduled for 21-29 October in Bulawayo (Zimbabwe). The club's coach Lazare Adingono said so Wednesday to Angop at Luanda airport, shortly before the teams departure for Zimbabwe. Lazare Adingono said that his athletes are confident and encouraged by the training they conducted throughout the National Championship. "We also feel enthusiastic because this is the first edition of the Afro-League in this new model being implemented by FIBA - Africa," similar to the African Cup of the Soccer, said Lazare Adingono . The 21-member delegation headed by its vice president for Basketball, Artur Barros, comprises 13 athletes, with stress to Leonel Paulo and Olimpio Cipriano, apart from coaching and clinical teams. The tournament gathers nine teams from the SADC region, including the Angola's 1 de Agosto and Interclube teams.
