With the conclusion of qualifications in Zone-5 for the 2017 Africa Champions Cup for Men and Women will berth in Botswana from October 20th through 26th with a full field of seven women teams and nine men teams jostling for the two available slots in each category.
The women teams in the Gaborone Zone-6 elimination series might enjoy an additional slot as InterClube basketball club of Luanda, Angola is the host of the final round coming up from November 10 to 19 in Luanda, other clubs who will compete alongside the defending champion are, Primeiro Agosto (Angola), BDF and Police team from Botswana, Ferroviario Maputo (Mozambique) and Lakers and Southern Mavericks of Zimbabwe.
Men field for the Zone-6 will have nine teams competing for the two available slots with Angolan duo of Groupo Do Libolo and Primeiro Agosto favoured to pick the tickets, others vying to make it to the final round in Tunisia later in the year includes, Jozy Nuggets from South Africa, Dolphins and Troopers (Botswana), Ferroviario Beira and Ferroviario Maputo (Mozambique), Matero Magic (Zambia) and Harare City Hornets and JBC (Zimbabwe).
The Zone-4 qualifiers will hold in the capital of the Democratic of Congo, Kinshasha between October 28 and November 4th.
A last minute postponement will now see the four men teams compete for honours in Zone-3 - Mark Mentors and Civil Defenders basketball clubs (Nigeria) and Renaissance basketball club and Espoir basketball club both of Republic of Benin slug it out from November 11th through 17th in Lagos, two teams are expected to emerge from the qualifiers.
There will be no games in women elimination of Zone-3 as only 2017 place finisher, First Bank basketball club registered.
