ASS Sale pulled within 6 points at the final intermission. Libolo dropped 24 points in the fourth quarter and raced to the victory. Abderrahim Najah (198-F/C-84) responded with 20 points and 12 rebounds for ASS Sale. Al Ahly - Kano Pillars 71-65 Al Ahly knocked down Kano Pillars to advance into African Champions Cup Final. Wayne Arnold (193-F/G-84, college: Tennessee St.) scored 19 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and issued 4 assists to lead the Egyptian team. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. Al Ahly claimed a 15:13 lead after ten minutes. Kano Pillars erased the deficit in the second term and tied things up at 34. Al Ahly regained the advantage in the third term. The hosts pulled ahead for a 54:51 lead with ten minutes remaining. Al Ahly limited Kano Pillars to just 14 points in the fourth term and raced to the victory. Tarek El-Sayed (211-C-78) finished with 13 points and 17 boards for Al Ahly. Abubakar Usman (192-G-86) responded with 17 points and 9 boards for Kano Pillars. |
