Group A1 De Agosto - C Africain 75-88Club Africain wrapped up their Champions Cup preliminary round campaign on a high note. They knocked down 1 De Agosto to finish second in Group A. Ziyed Chennoufi (201-F-88) and AJ Matthews (216-F-89, college: Farmingdale St.) came up with 17 points each for the winners. Club Africain opened a 40:32 halftime lead. They unleashed 48 points in the second half to ease to the win. Kyle Vinales finished with 15 points in the victory. Emmanuel Quezada (188-PG-85, college: USF) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for 1 De Agosto. Al Ahly - Kano Pillars 92-76 Ah Ahly registered the fourth consecutive victory in Cairo. The hosts rallied past Kano Pillars to finish preliminary round unbeaten. Wayne Arnold (193-F/G-84, college: Tennessee St.) posted 17 points to lead the hosts. Al Ahly sank 49 points in the first half to open a 16-point halftime lead. The hosts followed with a massive 29:11 run in the third quarter to clear off for good. Markeith Cummings (198-SF-88, college: Kennesaw St.) delivered 15 points in the win. Ejike Ugboaja (203-F-85) responded with 19 points for Kano Pillars. Group BBEAC - GS Petroliers 56-81GS Petroliers topped BEAC for the third win in Group B. Mustapha Adrar (202-C-82) stepped up with 15 points for the Algerian team. GS Petroliers rallied to a 45:19 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Mohamed Zerouali (199-G-90) tossed in 14 points in the victory. Mohaman Nkene (206-C-95) responded with 13 points for BEAC. City Oilers - Libolo 44-98 Libolo finished preliminary round on top of Group B. They coasted past City Oilers to improve at 3-1 record. Je'Kel Foster (194-G-83, college: Ohio St., agency: Inception Sports) stepped up with 20 points, 7 assists an 5 rebounds for the Angolan team. Libolo established a 47:18 halftime lead. They held City Oilers to just 1 point in the fourth quarter and coasted to the victory. Olimpio Cipriano (194-F-82) netted 18 points for the winners. Kami Kabangu (203-C-84) responded with 16 points for City Oilers. |
