Group AAl Ahly - 1 De Agosto 68-64Al Ahly registered the third straight win in Cairo. The hosts held off 1 De Agosto to stay undefeated. Ibrahim El Gamal (190-SG-88) accounted for 16 points in the win. Al Ahly claimed a 40:37 halftime lead. Al Ahly extended the gap at 9-point mark at the final intermission and protected it throughout the fourth stanza. Markeith Cummings (198-SF-88, college: Kennesaw St.) had 14 points in the win. Hermenegildo Santos (192-G-90) responded with 14 points for 1 De Agosto. Nzui Manto - Kano Pillars 75-86 Kano Pillars celebrated the first victory in Group A. They topped Nzui Manto for 1-1 record. Abdul Yahaya (203-F-90) came up with 20 points to lead the winners. Nzui Manto jumped to a 21:17 lead after ten minutes. But Kano Pillars bounced back with a 26:8 run in the second term to take a 14-point halftime lead. Kano Pillars maintained the lead throughout the second half to ease to the win. Ejike Ugboaja (203-F-85) delivered 11 points for the winners. Etienne Tametong (187-F-92) responded with 22 points for Nzui Manto. Group BBEAC - Libolo 52-76Libolo knocked down BEAC for the second victory in Group B. Roberto Fortes (193-G-84, college: Illinois St.) nailed 16 points to lead the Angolan team. Libolo rallied to a 43:26 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 29-point mark at the final break. BEAC limited Libolo to just 10 points in the fourth term but could not avoid the defeat. Olimpio Cipriano (194-F-82) and Eduardo Mingas (200-F/C-79) had 11 points each for the winners. Cedric Tsangue (194-F/G-91) responded with 11 points for BEAC. ASS Sale - City Oilers 83-72 ASS Sale held off City Oilers for the third straight win in Cairo. Brandon Freeman (191-G-83, college: UALR, agency: Promotex) came up with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the Moroccan team. City Oilers jumped to a 43:35 halftime lead. But ASS Sale turned things around in the second half. They ignited a 48:29 run after the big break and marched to yet another win. Zakaria El Masbahi (192-G/F-79) tossed in 18 points for the winners. Kami Kabangu (203-C-84) responded with 19 points for City Oilers. |
