Tunisia champions Club Africain dominated secured a place in next month's FIBA Africa Champions Cup thanks to a dominating performance at Africa Zone 1 qualifier held in Al Haceima, Morocco. The Tunisians, under the tutelage of Portuguese coach Vasco Curado, secured two wins in as many games after edging out AS Sale of Morocco before knocking out GS Petroliers of Algeria. Meanwhile, in Monday's battle for the last place for the ACC Final Round, Moroccan international Soufiane Kourodu was huge, posting a game-high 22 points to give AS Sale a 94-90 win and a ticket to the Cairo showpiece (7-16 December). The Moroccans finished with a 1-1 record, while GS Petroliers, who beat hosts Chabab RIF Al Hoceima, finished their Africa Zone 1 qualifier winless in two games. But despite losing their two games, the Algerian champions GS Petroliers will reportedly be awarded a wild card invitation to join the 12-team FIBA Africa's flagship club competition. As of 30 November, eleven teams have ensured their presence in the Final Round of this year's ACC.
List of participating teams: Primeiro D'Agosto and Recreativo do Libolo (Angola), ASCUT (Madagascar), Kano Pillars and Customs (Nigeria), City Oilers (Uganda), BEAC and Nzui-Manto (Cameroon), Al Alhy (Egypt), Club Africain (Tunisia) and AS Sale (Morocco).
