Four- time defending champions City Oilers are right where they want to be; they lead the NBL men's final 2-0 following a 76:72 win against KIU Sunday at the Lugogo Indoor Stadium. Chris Omanye (183-G-94) and Co made a positive start to the highly riveting game managing an incredible 14 point lead in the first quarter with the board reading 24-10 in favour of KIU Titans. However, things started going south for Brian Watum's guns who only managed just four points by the end of the first quarter as a determined City Oilers side played catch-up. Jimmy Enabu (187-PG-88) and Co stepped up in the third quarter to lead 55-54, displaying a high level of endurance. In the end, Sudi Ulanga's game high 24 points did not save the day for the Kansanga outfit, but then it was yet another performance to strengthen his credentials for the Most Valuable Player (MVP). Teammate and skipper Chris Omanye scored 16 points before a big crowd that has so far been treated to a flowing and on-the-edge-of -your seat basketball. Landry Ndikumana registered a team best of 21 points as the Oilers yet again proved their worth on the local scene. James Okello (194-PF-90) scored 18, Jimmy Enabu 13 and Steven Omony 12 points. The pressure is now on the first time finalists KIU Titans to overturn the deficit with game three of the best -of -seven series Wednesday at Lugogo Indoor Sradium.
