NBL Round 25: KIU Titans crush UPDF by record 48 points - Sep 12, 2017

The game with biggest result difference took place in Kampala. Local UPDF (3-10) was outscored by fourth ranked KIU Titans (9-3) 94-46 on Sunday night. The game without a history. KIU Titans led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UPDF to just 5 points in first quarter. KIU Titans dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to UPDF's 30. Guard Micheal Bwanga fired 13 points and 7 assists for the winners. Ethienne Kazungu (-80) chipped in 5 points and 12 rebounds. KIU Titans' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Felix Mukunzi produced 10 points for lost side. KIU Titans maintains fourth place with 9-3 record. UPDF at the other side keeps the eleventh position with ten games lost. KIU Titans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. UPDF will play against Sharing Youth (#7) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.

In the last two games of round 25 Ndejje was defeated by UCU Canons in a road game 64-56. Power beat Our Saviour at home 70-65.
The best stats of 25th round was 15 points and 10 rebounds by Fadhili Chuma of UCU Canons.

UCU Canons - Ndejje 64-56

There was no surprise when 5th ranked Ndejje (8-5) was defeated on the road by third ranked UCU Canons (11-4) 64-56 on Sunday. Tanzanian forward Fadhili Chuma (-95) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Center Lual Titus (-98) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Maker Deng (-94) produced 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard Innocent Ochera (-97) added 9 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. UCU Canons moved-up to second place, which they share with Power. Loser Ndejje keeps the fifth position with five games lost. UCU Canons is again looking forward to face Ndejje (#5) in the next round. Ndejje will play against Our Saviour and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

Power - Our Saviour 70-65

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Power (11-4) defeated at home 8th ranked Our Saviour (4-9) 70-65 on Sunday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. 29 personal fouls committed by Our Saviour helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Kenyan power forward Mickeal Makiadi (199-89) fired a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Guard Paul Odong (-91) chipped in 13 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward David Opolot (-89) produced 16 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Wilberforce Pirwoth (-95) added 16 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Power maintains second place with 11-4 record having just ten point less than leader Pemba Warriors, which they share with UCU Canons. Loser Our Saviour keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Power will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Our Saviour will play against Ndejje (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

FIBA Africa Zone V Club Championships set for October - 4 days ago
