Maker Deng (94) had a great game in the last round for Ndejje, receiving a Afrobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 22-year old player had a double-double of 21 points and 18 rebounds, while his team crushed, the league's bottom-ranked team Falcons (#11, 0-4) with 17-point margin 61-44. Ndejje is placed at 6th position in Ugandan NBL. Ndejje is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. Deng just recently signed at Ndejje, being already a very valuable addition to the team. Maker Deng has solid league stats. He leads league in rebounds with 11.8rpg. Deng is in league's top in and averages impressive 2.3spg and 80.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was -year old Benard Okumu (F) of Falcons. Okumu had a very good evening with a double-double of 19 points and 11 rebounds. Bad luck as Falcons lost that game 44-61 to the higher-ranked Ndejje (#6, 2-2). Falcons is still in a red zone at 11th spot in the standings. 4 lost games are too many considering they did not win any game. Okumu is one of the most experienced players at Falcons and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 15.3ppg (#2). He also registered 9.5 boards per game.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Steven Mwesigye (F) of Our Saviour (#12). Mwesigye scored 8 points and grabbed eleven rebounds (!!!). Despite Mwesigye's great performance Our Saviour lost 53-55 to the higher-ranked UPDF (#9, 1-2). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. Our Saviour can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have awful season losing so far all 4 games. Too bad for Mwesigye he does not play for a better team. But maybe if he did, his season stats would not be that high. Mwesigye has individually a great season in Uganda. After only 4 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.8rpg (7th best).

The Player of the week is chosen based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)

Ndikumana Landry (F-93) had a very impressive game in the last round for City Oilers and that's him to receive a Afrobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 10. The 23-year old forward had a double-double of 17 points and eleven rebounds, while his team outclassed Nkumba M. (#8, 1-2) with 44-point margin 93-49. City Oilers is placed at 4th position in Ugandan NBL. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. City Oilers will need more victories...   [read more]

NBL Round 10: Leader KIU Titans get another victory - 3 days ago
Undefeated leader KIU Titans delivered the fifth consecutive win on Sunday night. This time they beat 5th ranked UCU Canons (2-3) 55-43. The game was mostly controlled by KIU Titans. UCU Canons managed to win third quarter 15-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding UCU Canons to just 7 points in fourth quarter.
