After losing last year's final 75-73 to Egypt's Gezira, City Oilers have always made it clear this year's Fiba Africa Zone V Club Championship would only be considered a success by winning the title. They are one game away from achieving that feat after storming into the finals with a 76-34 rout over Kenya's USIU at the National Indoor Stadium in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Thursday evening. The three-time defending National Basketball League champions who also finished third on their debut in 2014 were dominant like has been at the tournament thus far by taking a 20-5 first quarter lead. Jimmy Enabu (183-G-88) led with 15 points and Landry Ndikumana added 12 for the Oilers who also go into the finals unbeaten. To underline their superiority thus far, Oilers have won all five games in the competition by no less than 24 points with their biggest margin of victory coming in yesterday's game. The final against Ulinzi is also a repeat of the opening Group B game that was comprehensively won 93-55 by the Ugandan side. The Kenyan side, meanwhile, reached the final with 64-62 over Rwanda's Patriots.
