Wounded Power, Our Saviour Aim for Quick Response - Jun 18, 2016

National Basketball League sides Power and Our Saviour share a number of things in common. Having won their opening five games, both suffered defeats last Sunday with Power being blown away 86-57 by City Oilers while Our Saviour went down 76-59 to KIU Titans. And as the respective sides admitted, they will have to change their approach if they are to prevent a second straight loss. "It was a wake-up call and the players realised we stand a better chance of winning the big games by playing a team game especially considering that we are a small team," Power coach Brian Wathum said yesterday. "But the reaction has been good throughout the week and hopefully it shows," he added. Similarly, Our Saviour's Martin Kelly, believes his team's lack of size leaves them at a disadvantage especially against the top sides. "We are undersized. If we play as individuals we can only achieve as much," said Kelly, who reckons a topfour finish is achievable. Yves Kalambayi is averaging 20 points for Our Saviour after six games and Joseph Ikong 22 for Power. On Wednesday, Wilber Pirwoth's 25 points helped UPDF Tomahawks improve to a 3-3 start following a 70-56 victory over Ndejje at YMCA.
