Division I Round 9: JS Manazeh loses to ES Sahel in the game between Top 4 teams - Oct 17, 2016

The game between Top Four teams took place in Manazeh. 4th placed host JS Manazeh (3-5) was smashed by first ranked ES Sahel (7-1) 70-49. ES Sahel have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They maintain first place with 7-1 record, which they share with ES Rades. JS Manazeh at the other side dropped to the fifth position with five games lost. ES Sahel is looking forward to face Stade Gabesien (#5) in the next round. JS Manazeh will play against DSG and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game between Top Four teams took place in Kairouan. 3rd placed host JS Kairouan (4-3) lost to second ranked ES Rades (7-1) 68-64. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of JS Kairouan. ES Rades keep a position of league leader, which they share with ES Sahel. JS Kairouan at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. ES Rades will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. JS Kairouan will play again against the league's second-placed ES Rades and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
Bottom-ranked US Ansar (0-8) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their eighth consecutive match to fifth ranked DSG (4-4) 70-49 on Saturday evening. DSG moved-up to fourth place, which they share with AS Hammamet. US Ansar lost their eighth game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with eight games lost. DSG will meet at home JS Manazeh (#5) in the next round. US Ansar will play against Ezzahra and hopes to get finally their first victory.
The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked U.S. Monastir (6-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Stade Gabesien (2-5). U.S. Monastir smashed Stade Gabesien 88-55. U.S. Monastir moved-up to second place, which they share with Stade Nabeulien. Stade Gabesien lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with five games lost. U.S. Monastir will have a break next round. Stade Gabesien will play on the road against the league's leader ES Sahel (#1) in Sousse and hope to win that game.

AS Hammamet managed to secure a 7-point victory 75-68 on Saturday. AS Hammamet maintains fourth place with 4-4 record, which they share with DSG. Loser C.S. Cheminots dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. AS Hammamet will face higher ranked Stade Nabeulien (#3) at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. C.S. Cheminots' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Tunis to the arena Club Africain.

In the last game of round 9 ESG lost to Stade Nabeulien on the opponent's court 54-67.

Stade Gabesien - US Monastir 55-88

The game in supposed to be also worth to mention about. Third ranked U.S. Monastir (6-2) played at the court of 5th ranked Stade Gabesien (2-5). U.S. Monastir smashed Stade Gabesien 88-55. U.S. Monastir moved-up to second place, which they share with Stade Nabeulien. Stade Gabesien lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Rather expected game when 6th ranked ESG (1-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Stade Nabeulien (6-2) 67-54 on Saturday. Stade Nabeulien moved-up to second place, which they share with US Monastir. ESG lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Stade Nabeulien will face AS Hammamet (#4) on the road in the next round.

Etoile du Sahel (Division I) agreed terms with experienced 34-year old Lithuanian ex-international power forward Povilas Cukinas (210-103kg-83).
