Michael Roll
Maccabi Fox Tel-Aviv (Winner League) is close to add to their roster 30-year old Tunisian international shooting guard Michael Roll (197-92kg-87, college: UCLA) who played last time at Besiktas Sompo Japan Istanbul in Turkey. He is a dual citizen owning also American passport. In 40 BSL games he recorded 11.2ppg, 2.9rpg and 4.6apg last season. Roll also played 16 games in Basketball Champions League where he averaged 11.8ppg, 2.5rpg, 4.7apg and 1.2spg.
He ended the previous (2015-16) season at Baskonia in Spanish Liga Endesa. In 7 games he had 4.3ppg and 2.0rpg. Roll helped them to make it to the semifinals. But the most of that year Roll spent at Demir IBB (also in BSL) in Turkish. In 29 games he got impressive 16.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 4.7apg. A very spectacular season in his career as he was voted to Turkish League All-Star Game. He played in the final of Turkish League.
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others Roll was voted Afrobasket.com All-African Championships 2nd Team in 2015. He has been regularly called to Tunisian Senior National Team since 2015.
Roll has played also professionally in Belgium (Antwerp Giants), Turkey (Turk Telekom and Bornova) and Spain (Zaragoza).
He attended Univ.of Calif.at Los Angeles until 2010 and it will be his eighth season as a professional player.
The scouts decsribe him following way: A very good shooter, with 3pts range, he also reads the game very well when he's on the court. Passes the ball well and can make a lot of little things and all those "intangibles" that can make you win. Not so athletic, but better than expected, he is a tough defender, even thanks to high basketball IQ. Plus, has a winning mentality and yet a good leadership.
