Al Ahli Jeddah (Premier League) strengthened their roster with addition of 28-year old Togolese ex-international guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alderson-Broaddus , WV). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Williams played recently at Tacapes in Tunisian Division I. He also spent pre-season at Shahrdari Gorgan (Superleague) in Iran earlier that year. Part of last summer Williams spent at RSB Berkane (D1) in Moroccan league. He helped them to win the league title. The other team Williams played shortly was Desportivo Maputo (D1) in Mozambican league.
Among other achievements he received Africabasket.com All-African Championships Honorable Mention award back in 2011. Williams also represented Togo at the African Championships in Madagascar three years ago.
He is a very experienced player. Williams has played also professionally in Mexico (Cosmos), Qatar (Al Wakrah), Syria (Al Yarmouk), Mozambique (Desp.Maputo), Libya (Ittihad) and Palestine (The Orthodox Club Ramallah and Ibdaa (Creativity) Dheisheh).
Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him to get the job in pro basketball.
He attended Alderson-Broaddus , WV until 2008 and it is his sixth season in pro basketball.
The scouts decsribe him following way: Combo/Guard Can play the one or two good long range, and mid range shooter. Smart player expose Great knowledge of the game. Have an all around game great rebounder for a guard, and have good court vision. Able to guard a one two or three. Also Able to create his own shot. Good one on one player, good at using screens, and can post smaller guards.

Ferroviario Beira (D1) landed 30-year old Togolese ex-international guard Jimmy Williams (196-86, college: Alderson-Broaddus, WV). He has a double citizenship as he also holds American passport. Williams played most recently at Al Ahli in Qatari D1 league. In 12 games he was fourth best scorer with impressive 23.4ppg and recorded 6.8rpg, 2.3apg and 1.1spg last season. Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Others Sign Basketball Pact - 1 Year ago
The Nigeria Basketball Federation (NBBF) said it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Benin Republic, Togo, Niger and Burkina Faso on a regional development of basketball.
