Saudi Arabia - Sudan 75:67

Saudi Arabia started their Arab Nations Cup campaign with victory over Sudan. The Asian team overcame a slow start to rally to the confident victory at the end. Sudan in the meantime suffered the second straight defeat and remained at the bottom of Group B.
The African side got to the better start. They limited Saudi Arabia to 11 points in the opening frame and ensured a 19:11 lead. But as Saudi Arabia adjusted their offense they started to narrow the deficit. Saudi Arabia trailed by just one point at halftime. More to come as the Asian team surged in front in the third quarter. They held their opponents to 13 points and entered the fourth quarter up by 7 points. Saudi Arabia maintained the lead well enough posting the initial win at the end. Ayman Al Mowalled (88) delivered 15 points to pace Saudi Arabia. Wissam Kamal (89) answered with game-high 25 points. William Mills (78) had 14 points in the loss. Sudan will next take on Iraq on Saturday, while Saudi Arabia will face Iraq on Thursday.

Phoenix Suns (NBA) landed 23-year old Sudanese guard Peter Jok (198-91kg-94). He just graduated from Iowa (NCAA). Jok has played there for the last four years. In 32 games he averaged impressive 19.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 2.6apg and 1.1spg last season. Jok helped them to make it to the NIT Sweet 16. and they also made it to the NIT Sweet 16. B.C. Martorell Solvay (EBA) inked 19-year old Sudanese center Deng Mayot (218-97). It is actually his comeback to Martorell as he has played here before. Mayot is not a newcomer in Spanish League where he played most recently at ICL Manresa in Spanish Liga Endesa. Illiabum lands Angelo Chol - 1 Year ago
Newly promoted Illiabum Clube (LPB) landed 23-year old American (has also Sudanese passport) forward Angelo Chol (206-100kg-93). He just graduated from San Diego State University (NCAA). Chol has played there for the last three years. In 36 games he averaged 3.9ppg and 3.1rpg last season. Chol helped them to win the regular season and make it to the MWC Tournament final.
