Mangisto Arop (ex Uni Baskets) signs at River Lions - Oct 16, 2016

NBL Canada newcomer Niagara River Lions (NBL Canada) landed 26-year old former Canadian international forward Mangisto Arop (198-98kg-90, college: Indiana State). He has a double citizenship as he also holds South Sudanese passport. Arop played most recently at Uni Baskets in German ProA, but left the team in Oct.'15. In two games he averaged 11.5ppg, 2.5rpg and 2.0apg last season.
The previous (14-15) season Arop played at Norrkoping Dolphins in Swedish Basketligan where in 39 games he had 9.0ppg and 4.5rpg.
Among other achievements Arop played in the final of MVC Tournament in 2014. He received also All-MVC Honorable Mention award in 2014 at his college time.
Arop was also a member of Canadian international program for some years. He played for Canadian Senior National Team back in 2011 and previously for University National Team in 2013.
Arop represented Canada at the World University Games in Kazan (Russia) three years ago.
He graduated from Indiana State in 2014 and actually missed last season. It will be his third season in pro basketball.
